Short Description:
Prepare for an unforgettable journey in P.O.T.A.T.O,
a game that introduces you to a world where the line between biology and technology fades. Here, a
lab potato, through a chance fall onto a piece of cutting-edge equipment, attains sentience. In this
captivating third-person adventure, you assume control of the conscious tuber, rolling around the
lab, collecting mechanical parts that bestow upon it abilities such as jumping, dashing, and
magnetizing. With these skills at your disposal, you're tasked to navigate complex puzzles that
challenge your strategic thinking, dexterity, and resolve. Prepare for a uniquely difficult gaming
experience that'll leave you on the edge of your seat.
As the lead 3D artist and game designer on P.O.T.A.T.O., my role was essential in creating
the
charming and unique world that players explore. My contributions involved the crafting of
stylized,
low-poly 3D models that lend the game its distinctive, cell-shaded aesthetic. From our
plucky potato
protagonist to the intricate lab setting and various mechanical parts, each model was created with a
balance of simplicity and character that defines our game's visual style.
My hard work, along with the help of a great team, really paid off when our game, P.O.T.A.T.O., won
a prize of 10.000₺ at the MAUJAM 2023 event. This event was the first of its kind at
Maltepe University. Winning this prize showed us that our game was really good and original. It also
encouraged me to keep trying new and exciting things in game design.
